Ministry Opportunities

Long Term Ministry Opportunity:

Reachout To Africa along with our partner organization Mamkhulu.org is searching for two long term volunteers to work in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. These positions could be filled by a married couple with complementary skills and attributes. These opportunities maybe extended past 1 year for the right individuals. These positions are open to any volunteers with the right skills and character attributes.

Position 1

This person must be committed to a minimum 1 year service agreement.

Skills and Attributes:

Skills:

Computer and Technology: To be able to maintain a small network, install applications, do virus and software updates. To be able to upload video and photographic files. Some experience with web 2 technology.

Teaching skills: To help coach students with school curricular. e.g. math, accounting and English.

Business Experience: To become a mentor for youth leaders who set up their own businesses. Provide ongoing business advice and guidance on operational situations.

Attributes:

Committed Christian: This individual must have a proven commitment to Christian values, demonstrated experience in Church leadership and a desire to serve those less privileged than themselves.  

Team worker: Must be able to walk the fine line between being a leader and building a team. Our programs a team based and this is an essential part of our mission. A high degree of empathy with team members  is required.

Leader: This person must be able to show leadership without taking charge. We need someone to come along side our existing staff and youth volunteers and to provide guidance and leadership.

Service will commence on June 1st 2011. Reachout To Africa will assist selected volunteer with fundraising help. It is estimated that the volunteer will require between $15000 and $18000 support for the 1 year program plus cost of flights.  

Position 2:

Skills:

Teacher: This individual should have some experience in educational instruction, developing extra lesson plans and implementing them to a schedule. They will be required to develop creative and innovating learning experiences for learners without high tech tools and technology.

Administration: Should be able to monitor project income and expenses. Allocate funds to projects and simple bookkeeping and provide reports as required by the Program Manager and Reachout To Africa on an ongoing basis.

Interpersonal skills: Should be able to relate well to both male and female youth and young adults.
