About Reachout to Africa
Reachout To Africa is a Christian registered Canadian charity, humanitarian organization dedicated to providing financial and logistical aid to communities and vulnerable children of Southern Africa.
We work closely with various organizations who have many, many years of experience working in various countries in Africa. These organizations are involved with local grass root community resilience building and educational and development projects.
They do this together with NGO's, Faith based organizations (FBO) Churches, Educational and Government organizations. We are seeing new avenues open up where there are many exciting opportunities for real contributions. These grassroots individuals and organizations in Southern Africa are the beneficiaries of Reachout To Africa.
Why Southern Africa?
The whole African continent is experiencing capacity shrinkage. The two main reasons for this are the Brain Drain and the AIDS pandemic. Africans are emigrating at an alarming rate. Combined with those who are incapacitated by AIDS, there is actually a more acute need for capacity building today, than ever before.
Key professions like teaching, nursing and engineering are being depleted. This is having a knock-on effect when it comes to the social services. Governments in particular have to re-think their roles in terms of service delivery. More than they might have liked simply has to be devolved to people and groups at the grass roots.
This is the order of the day. Another consequence is that Africa will need significant numbers of collaborators/Volunteers from overseas to shore up its sagging social services. These volunteers need to come with attitudes that allow them to transfer know-how to those they work with; this mode of learning is one that Reachout To Africa is using more and more.

Meniscus, Inc. is a non-governmental, charitable organization working in under-served areas of the world for the relief of the poor, the distressed and the underprivileged by the transformation and development of healthy families, communities and cultures.
At Emoyeni, we believe that these children are the future of the nation. We also believe that of all the needs most specific to children, there is one that stands out above the others: the need to belong.
Churches
Our desire is that Hillside Baptist Church would reflect the sense of community, fellowship, and ministry that our members experience through their attendance at our church on Lynn Valley Road. Hillside is not the building, but the family of wonderful caring people who meet week after week, and demonstrate God's love through their actions.
Loved by God, we respond in love. Committed to Christ, open to his Spirit, and faithful to his teachings, we will grow in the faith and in fellowship as we pray, worship, and study together, and as we care for one another, our community, and God’s world.
St Simon's North Vancouver is a renewal-oriented church in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our St. Simon's purpose is to be 'Praising, Serving, Sharing Christ in the Power of the Holy Spirit'. With three part-time Pastors reaching children, youth and newcomers, we have a strong commitment to outreach in our community, and also help support 14 missionaries locally and around the world.
